Tanaya Walters is a turnaround specialist with emphasis on change management, organizational development and strategic planning. She has spent over two decades of her career working in Higher Education to improve organization efficiency and student life. Tanaya’s skills, professionalism and commitment to enhancing the student experience have transformed her into a leader and an inspiration to her peers and community. She goes above and beyond in any endeavor she undertakes. Her diligence and commitment to her career has led to incredible transformations for every institution to which she has contributed.
Tanaya has been consistently recognized for her extraordinary work throughout her career. She has been on several “Who’s Who” lists in Charlotte, NC and has been profiled in Charlotte Pride Magazine and the Charlotte Post Newspaper. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing and a Master of Science degree in Managerial Technology from Johnson & Wales University as well as a Doctor of Education in Higher Education and Organizational Change from Benedictine University. Tanaya Walters also graduated from: Leadership Charlotte; Charlotte Chamber of Commerce Leadership Institute; and Johnson & Wales University Senior Management Academy, and has certificates from the Center for Creative Leadership. She holds a coaching certification in EQ-i 2.0 and EQ-i 360. She is a frequent lecturer on topics such as personal organization, goal setting, diversity/inclusion, leadership, emotional intelligence, and higher educational consulting.
Tanaya is a deeply motivated individual whose life goals revolve around improving the lives of individuals and organizations. In her spare time, Tanaya enjoys volunteering for local causes that benefit her community. Tanaya Walters has served as Board Member for the YMCA and Harvey B. Gantt Center for African American Arts & Culture. She also holds a passion for mentoring children and helping individuals in the Charlotte area achieve college completion. Her most recent volunteer experience includes serving as an image consultant and guest lecturer for the Atlanta Dress for Success.
